Peace With Yourself

For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6 ESV

The Lord revealed that 2021 would be a year of peace with myself and I believe that word applies to you as well. 2010-2020 was an intense decade for many believers. It was a time marked by wilderness experiences and breaking things off of family lines. It was a time of seeking what it meant to have a real relationship with God: breaking off legalism, changing religious mindsets, and shifting with God to new movements (the new wine if you will). It left many of us weary from spiritual warfare and wondering when we would see His promises for our unique destinies. The time is now.

I heard in my spirit:

“You will find peace with yourself this year–no more doubting who you were born to be, no more doubting if My blessings are for you. This year, I will reveal Myself as Father to a generation of spiritual orphans. You will fly with Me–secure in your identity as My child and the object of My love. You are no different than your brother, Jesus. You will reign with Me in the Kingdom in peacetime. The war is over.”

I want to encourage you to look to Christ for your identity. Let the war in your mind cease. Who you are in Him is who you really are. Start seeing yourself in the Spirit instead of the flesh and find absolute peace in Him. I know this is difficult for people who have been abused, but understand that God heals the brokenhearted. It is important to know that a narcissist’s words do not define you, to quote Cory Asbury, “that’s what our Father does.”

If you’ve ever wondered if God could use your uniqueness and quirkiness, be encouraged in God’s love. He loves you as you are and He can’t wait to use the very qualities that make you you. His Spirit will give you life as you open your heart to become more like Him through beholding Him.

Enjoy peace in your soul as you enjoy peace with the Father!
